On the simplest level, tap water picks up excess minerals on its route to our homes. It’s this excess mineral content that latches on to the cuticle and scalp, and forms a “hard,” calcified layer. Over time, this build-up, combined with excess chemicals and heavy metals in our water, diminishes hair health. The result?  Hair that feels brittle, appears dull, and is prone to split ends. HEALTHY WEDDING HAIR 101

When our clients get engaged and set a wedding date, the first question asked is, ‘what’s the plan for my wedding hair?’My first piece of advice is to work backwards, and set all color appointments leading up to the big day, well in advance. I also encourage my brides to schedule the last appointment as close to the wedding day as possible, but NEVER in the last week. That time is for making memories and being in the moment with loved ones- don’t spend it in a salon.Once the color appointments are set, it’s time to think about the hair styling for the day. Compile a few images to give your stylist insight into how they should approach your haircuts leading up to the wedding, and ask yourself how you truly want to feel. It’s important to honor this piece - and it’s important that everyone included in the process does so, as well.
